“I am a woman of many parts” – Movie star Bukky Wright talks husband and kids in new interview

Bukky Wright is one movie star that has waded through testing scandals and controversies that could last her a lifetime, but she is unruffled.
In a recent interview with Tribune, she opened up on her pains and gains of being a celebrity, among other issues.
Bukki15
See excerpts below:
Sometime ago you were rated as one of the most controversial actresses in Nollywood; does controversy suit you and does it really get to you at all?
It does not get to me. It takes the grace of God and determination to stay in this kind of profession without going through controversies here and there, but I have never allowed controversies to get to me. I understand the fact that I have a price to pay for being a celebrity. But that does not mean I should start jumping over the place because I am a celebrity or because I want people to know I am still relevant. Those who say I am controversial don’t know me. I am different things to different people. I am sure you would have your own idea of who Bukky Wright is by the time this interactive session is over.
Some people believe that you left the industry because you were not being patronised anymore as a result of the controversies and age, which obviously was not on your side again. Did you see things that way?
I am a woman of many parts. When people don’t see your face in movies for a long time, they tend to conclude that you have left the industry or you are no more relevant. They will come up with different untrue stories just to drag you into their world. But they have forgotten that I am into other businesses that need my attention. A lot of people will also tell you that Bukky has been missing in action because they could not afford her fee.
Why should it cost much to have you in a movie?
To have Bukky Wright in a movie does not come cheap. I think I have been able to pay my dues over the years. Let me also tell you that It is not about being expensive. That is what a lot of people don’t understand. They might say it is expensive to have Bukky Wright in a movie, but at the same time, If I like your script and the people I am going to work with, trust me, It does not have to do with the money. I do a lot of work for people that I don’t even charge them a penny.  The script and the character I am playing might even allow me to downplay the payment. I really admire people with courage and good working relationship.
What is it about your name that at the mention of it, you hear all sorts of things?
I think you have to explain what you mean by all sorts of things.
I mean people always have something to say about your person?
If you are talking about people’s opinions, I will say everybody is entitled to his or her opinion. I have learnt to let people do the talking while I do my work. Apparently, my work brings the talks. I don’t have any problem with what people say. A lot of people who don’t know me, and they tend to link what they see in movies to my real person. These people have forgotten that in every movie that you see, I am playing a character; it is not me.

So, who is the real Bukky Wright?
The real Bukky Wright is God-fearing, down to earth, but very blunt to a large extent. The funny thing about this job is that people won’t complain if you act in a movie where you are asked to cry from the beginning to the end. It will surprise you to hear that some of my fans do tell me that when I am crying in movies, they also cry. What that tells you is that I am doing what I have to do rightly, interpreting my roles passionately.
There is this issue of lesbianism in the industry and some people have pointed the finger at you that you are the ring leader, but up till this moment, you have not come out to deny the allegation…
I will say that over the years, my skin has grown so thick that I don’t really care what people say about me. As far as I am happy within myself, I am okay. Nobody is going to make you thick except yourself. As long as I am happy, I don’t care whatever anybody says.
You haven’t answered my question?
The major price I have paid for being a celebrity is my privacy and it hurts so badly. I want to be able to sit down with the people that know me, walk on the street like any other person. I also want to stand by the roadside to buy roasted plantain, but this job won’t allow me to do that. I don’t have  to respond to everything people say about me.
But why do you think people could have fingered you in such a thing and not somebody else?
Let me tell you something, from my very first day in the industry, the first thing that crossed my mind was negative press. And, since the day I decided I want to grow, I said to myself, Bukky, it is not your life again.
Has this got to do with some of the roles you have played before?
People will always talk. They will say things that you don’t like. I think that one of the major problems  in the industry and why I have issues with people is because I don’t mix with them. Unfortunately, many people have misconstrued that. There are lots of people in this industry that would say, I have not seen Bukky Wright before. That is to tell you what I mean. Even If I am on location, I don’t talk. Those that we have known each other for a while, we sit down to gist and after that, we move on with our lives; it ends there.
But to some people, silence means consent?
I am not the kind of person that wants too many people on her side. I always love to be unpredictable. I have heard a lot of things like that. Same people will tell you Bukky Wright is a fighter; she likes to fight and harass people, but could you please ask them, how many people have they ever seen me fight before?  How many people could come out and say she met Bukky doing what they say I am doing or I have done?
How long are you going to remain silent about issues that are capable of ruining your career?
Everything in life has its pros and cons. If I don’t want people to talk about me, then I will have to become irrelevant. People are talking because I am relevant and they can relate with my person. Somebody that has never met or seen me before would talk as though we stay together under the same roof that is how far people could go just to talk.
So these things don’t make you feel sad?
As a human being, there are times that a false story will hit you, that you will feel so bad about it. I am human, but what will I do? I think I should thank God that they challenged God through me because the more they talk, the higher I go.
How does your husband react to some of these things?
Most of the time, he does not like seeing or hearing anything about that and he would want me to take an action that would serve as a deterrent to others, but I will say no.
Tell us more about him?
My husband is a perfect gentleman and I thank God for his life. In fact, some people will even use him to blackmail me when I am not taking their scripts. I have been able to carve that little bit of privacy for myself, husband and children. That is how far I can tell you about him.
Why do celebrities like to live fake lives?
I think it is crazy for any celebrity to paint the picture of what he or she cannot achieve five years from now. They call it showbiz and you have to show, but sometimes, you have to put that aside and be yourself. I am not the kind of woman that likes to do what others do. I love to be myself and those who know me would tell you that is Bukky for you.

You Don’t Have To Believe In God To Go To Heaven – Pope Francis

Pope Francisco writes to La Repubblica: "An open dialogue with non-believers"
An Italian journalist and founder of La Repubblica newspaper, Eugenio Scalfari, had asked Pope Francis in a letter if God forgives atheists/non-believers.
Responding to him, Pope Francis said the key issue for non-believers is that of  “obeying their consciences” when faced with choices of good or evil.
Pope Francis wrote:
You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don’t believe and who don’t seek the faith.
I start by saying – and this is the fundamental thing – that God’s mercy has no limits if you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart. The issue for those who do not believe in God is to obey their conscience.
Sin, even for those who have no faith, exists when people disobey their conscience.”

Ferguson warns Moyes ahead of Champions League opener

Moyes-RVP-Chicharito
David Moyes has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson thinks Manchester United are in a tough Champions League group this year.
The Scot called up his predecessor after the draws were made and United found themselves in Group A, alongside Shakhtar Donestk, Bayer Leverkusen and Real Sociedad.
“After the draw, I phoned Sir Alex to talk about it and he said he thinks it’s one of the hardest draws United have ever had in the Champions League,” Moyes said.
“If that’s coming from him, then it must be tough.
“There are some great squads but I do think that on any given day we would fancy our chances. We hope to get those opportunities to prove that we are good enough to beat them.
“I’ve got to make sure we’re in the Champions League this year, next year and the years after, and competing to try to win it.

Remove Tukur now, he’s doing PDP more harm than good – Aris, Adamawa SSG

Bamanga Tukur

Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, Kobis Aris, has said unless Tukur is removed from office, it would for PDP, the acclaimed largest party in Africa to experience peace.
Aris, told Punch that Tuku’s utterances and actions had shown that he was incompetent of leading the party.
He said, “It will be difficult to bring peace into the party, with Tukur still there as national chairman. His utterances are unfriendly while his comments are antagonistic.
“Being a father and with his age, he ought to speak with some level of decorum. But instead of using all these as advantage, he is using them negatively. He is doing the party more harm than good.”

“We were a bit lucky” – Wenger admits after 3-1 win against Sunderland

Ozil hugs Giroud at Sunderland
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, has admitted that his team were probably lucky to have defeated Sunderland 3-1 at the Stadium of Light.
The Gunners took the lead in the 11th minute, after debutant Mesut Ozil slipped in a fine pass for Olivier Giroud to score. Sunderland equalised through Craig Gardener, before Aaron Ramsey grabbed a brace to settle matters.
However, Martin Atkinson disallowed a Jozy Altidore’s goal, shortly before Ramsey  wrapped up the win.
Wenger said: “We were a bit lucky at 2-1 maybe, but we found the mental resources to win.
“It could have been a foul for us as well because Altidore took Sagna as well but the referee blew before the goal, I was sure of that because I saw him.''

“I was one of the few that wore expensive brazilian hair before it became a craze” – Empress Njamah

In a recent interview with Punch, Actress Empress Njamah when asked to talk about her signature especially her colored hairstyle disclosed thus:
  • Empress is known for her hairstyle. How come you don’t make it simple when it comes to your hair?
A lot of people always talk about my hair before my name while trying to introduce Empress. It is not a logo. It is just that everybody has one thing they are used to and they like doing.
Over the years, I was one of the few that started wearing expensive Brazilian hair before it became a craze. I like to wear very full hair. Most times, it takes two people to make my hair. I wear what three or four people can wear. I am a hair person. Sometimes you make your passion your profession. I sell human hair but I started wearing it long before I started selling them. For a lady, your hair should stand out.
  • You also wear different colours of hair extensions…
I am adventurous when it comes to hairstyles. I have worn all the hair colours that anybody can think of but I wear them in a subtle manner, as such, you can’t fault the hair.
I do not like people who criticise what they do not have the courage to do. Most people want to be adventurous.
If you listen to what people have to say, I think you will go the wrong way when it comes to fashion. I am very colourful in all ramifications. I like bright things. It takes a lot for me to wear a black outfit for a burial ceremony. I try to put a colour to it. Fashion is a thing of the mind

I can have sex for 24 hours – Ken Okonkwo boasts

Ken OkonkwoUnknown to many, Nollywood actor-cum-lawyer, Keneth Okonkwo is a trained and an ordained evangelist with over a decade experience in God’s vineyard.
Ken has no doubt proven himself as a force to reckon with in the highly competitive movie industry, globally known as Nollywood with over 100 flicks to his credit.
Aside his passion for acting and evangelism, Ken is also a ladies man who started enjoying their companies at a very tender age, “I started kissing at a very tender age because it was part of the things they were doing to me,” he told Entertainment Express during an interview in Asaba, Delta State.
In fact, the hunk said he could even ‘go in’ with a lady for 24 hours non-stop, an action he said has been attracting to ladies him.
Hear him, “I am strong sexually for 24 hours, my wife knows that. If I come back and my face is not bright, she will come and play with me. I never knew God was working out something for me, each I time I have an affair with any lady, she goes out to tell her friend, that her friend will end up developing interest for me.
So when I married my wife, I told her if she knows what is best for her she should not tell any of her pals.
“I loved kissing, maybe that is why my lips are red like this. They taught me how to be with women, I just love what I was feeling at that time. They would give me their body to play with, when they place my hand anywhere I will just feel it, so I grew up having a very touching and funny upbringing. I became very passionate relating with them very passionately, till today, when I am sleeping with a lady, she has to come before me. I enjoy sex more when they have enjoyed theirs; I was free living with them,” he said.
When asked of his alleged romance with Nollywood thespian and mother of one, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Okonkwo said, “It is so funny to hear this, and do you know why? Before Mercy was born or should I say when she was still in the kindergarten level in school, I had already started kissing ladies in movies and I have been acting natural with ladies. So she met me still doing it. Why would her own be different? Okay, let me tell you why her own is different; it is simply because she is exceptionally different and talented as an actress, so when she matches her good skills with my own natural skills, people would have no choice than to enjoy it. They would end up saying we are so natural together, are you sure they don’t have anything in common?
Mercy is like a younger sister to me. We are so very close. I am so close to her and her husband. He is like a very good brother of mine. Like I told you, it is my nature to be so confidential with any lady I have something with on earth, so it makes me laugh each time anybody talks about Mercy and myself in any way, except that we are professional colleagues,” he added

FRSC threatens to prosecute police chief over alleged assault

The FRSC says it will prosecute a Deputy Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi Police Command for allegedly assaulting its officers.
Mr Chika Nwaka, the FRSC Enugu Zonal Commander, said this in Abakaliki on Saturday during a public sensitisation rally held on the use of Speed Limit Devices.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the police chief, DCP Istifanus Shettima, and some officers allegedly assaulted two FRSC officials who were on duty on the Enugu-Abakaliki expressway on Thursday.
Nwaka vowed that the FRSC would pursue the case to a logical conclusion, alleging that Shettima was fond of assaulting FRSC officials.
“This has been a regular occurrence and we are determined to make this incident the last.
“It is absurd for him (Shettima) to allege that the FRSC does not have the constitutional right to operate within the town; that was why he assaulted our officers,” he said.
Nwaka, however, said that FRSC officials should be constitutionally empowered to carry arms, as it would protect them from incessant assaults.
“Lesser security outfits such as vigilante groups carry guns; so, I feel it is high time FRSC officials were empowered to carry arms,” he said.
Mr Onyinyechi Chukwu, one of the assaulted FRSC officers, said that he was assaulted by Shettima while controlling traffic at the Presco Junction axis of the road.
“I did not cause any accident; he just beckoned on me and said that I should be in the office or along the highway and not at the junction.
“When I tried to defend my posting there, he came down from his vehicle and slapped me.
“His men swooped on me and they wanted to put me inside the boot of their vehicle but I resisted, while my fellow officers rushed to the scene,” he said.
Reacting, DSP Sylvester Igbo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, said that Shettima was visiting policemen posted to various duty posts along the express road.
“One FRSC officer, who was directing traffic, allowed vehicles from different directions to pass at the same time and this made a tricycle and motorcycle to collide.
“The DCP, who was present at the location with his personnel, directed the FRSC official to accompany the victims of the accident to the Police Motor Traffic Division to give statements, and for the injured ones to receive treatment.
“The FRSC officer refused and hauled abuses at the DCP and subsequently assaulted him,” Igbo
added. (NAN)

Teenage girls drown in Enugu River [PHOTOS]

Divers searching for missing girls in Enugu
Divers after the fruitless search
Two teenagers got drowned at the Asata River in Enugu on Saturday, creating tension at the ever busy Independent Layout-New Haven Junction.
Friends of the victims, who are said to be indigenes of Ebonyi State, told journalists that they were all hawking their wares when suddenly the two teenagers said they wanted to have a bath in the river.
It was gathered that soon after, the younger one said to be below ten years went deeper into the river, adding that while she was crying for help, her elder sister moved closer to rescue her.
“Painfully, two of them got drowned. Another person that was also in the river started shouted for help, by the time we got to this place we could not see them again.
“We alerted divers living close to this neighbourhood, you can see that they have only succeeded in bringing out the dead body of the older one, while her younger sister is still trapped in the river.
“We are all waiting to see whether miracle will happen, because I don’t know how one family will lose two persons just like this”, one of the hawkers said in tears.
Another eye witness said the victims saw two other young men swimming in the river and decided to have a feel of the river, adding that they got drowned in the process.
DailyPost correspondent who was also at the river reported that after about two hours, the divers emerged, announcing to the crowd of sympathizers that the search has ended for the day.
“We have tried our best and as you can see, we were able to bring out the dead body of thee older one. In fact, I am the person that brought her body from the bottom of this river; we have been inside that river for more than 2 hours but the youngest one is nowhere to be found.

Remains of one of the victims surrounded by sympathizers
“It is already getting late, so it will be difficult for us to continue this search in the dark”, the leader of the team stated.
The incident, which attracted hundreds of Enugu residents, created a serious traffic gridlock along the Road.
As at the filling this report, the recovered dead body of one of the victims was still lying beside the road, covered with clothes by some concerned residents.
Their foot wears were still by the side of the river.
Meanwhile, the police in Enugu has not confirmed the death, even as different police patrol vehicles passed at the crowded place, inquire what was going on and zoomed off.

NATURAL WAYS OF GETTING RID OF BAD BREATH

Document Detail:
Halitosis is also known as bad breath. It is an extremely embarrassing problem for many people to deal with.
Halitosis is the result of the action taken by bacteria that live in your mouth, tongue, and tonsils.
There are many factors that could be the causes of bad breath, and many of the factors that could be causes of bad breath can be dealt with quickly and easily using simple techniques.
In fact the causes of bad breath are so well documented that it is easy to find the factors which are the cause of bad breath for you.
So what are the causes of bad breath exactly?
Bad breath, which is usually halitosis, is caused by VSCs (Volatile Sulfur Compounds) in the mouth, these are the most common of the causes of bad breath. But what are they, anyway?
There is a common misconception that bad breath can come from your stomach, and although it may feel like that sometimes, the smell comes from the compounds produced your throat and mouth. Some foods however after they have been consumed encourage the production of certain chemicals that are then discharged via the lungs. So that extra helping of deep-fried onion rings is actually making a smell through your lungs.
So how can we avoid these great causes of bad breath?
Well many of the causes of bad breath are things that we take for granted and use everyday. Most toothpastes can be a cause of bad breath because the stuff that makes the foam actually promotes production of VSCs.
Bacteria build up on the tongue - The major cause of bad breath is a build up of bacteria on the back of the tongue and on the under layers. This can be easily treated with a combination of tools such as oral tongue cleaners and good oral cleaning regime. Bacteria in your throat and mouth help to break down certain proteins. When some Amino acids which have a lot of Sulfur inside, start to get broken down and then produce various foul smelling compounds from the back of the mouth and throat.
Bad teeth - Rotting teeth are an obvious cause of halitosis. If this is indeed the cause then swift dental treatment can erase bad breath overnight. Removing or treating a rotting tooth can cure the problem instantly as once the rotting part of the tooth has been identified the source of the problem will have been removed.
Food - Spicy food is a great culprit and many people are shocked because they think that bad breath caused by such food is limited to the day after consuming the foods in question. The fact is spicy food can cause bad breath for two to three days after a meal and this is why people think the cause lies elsewhere.
Smoking - This is an obvious cause of bad breath and there is not a breath treatment on the market that can combat this area of halitosis. Nicotine literally oozes from every part of your body, inside and out, so the smart way of combating this it to kick the habit.
Tonsil stones - Tonsils can hold a mass of bacteria and also tonsil stones, The combination of both is enough to set loose a mass of foul smelling odors that no amount of teeth or tongue cleaning can cure. The good news is these stones can easily be dissolved and the bacteria obliterated.
Illness - It is very rare for an internal illness to cause bad breath but this is an area that should certainly be looked into. If all other methods of breath freshening have failed a doctor should obviously be consulted in order to find out the underlying cause.
A dry tongue can also be a cause of bad breath. The bacteria that produce those nasty SVCs actually don't like oxygen, so a dry mouth is perfect and hence becomes a cause of bad breath.
The nasty stuff from the bacteria comes from the breakdown of Amino acids, which are found in protein. So high protein foods can be a cause of bad breath, even a generally high protein diet could be one of the causes of bad breath.
Once you have elevated levels of the bacteria in your throat, it becomes very difficult to fight off the bad breath as those bacteria can use anything to be the next trigger for your bad breath. By successfully reducing the amount of bacteria in your throat you can make sure that it becomes that much more difficult to get the bad breath in the first place.

Food that Causes Bad Breath
Certain foods are prone to produce bad breath. Everyone knows that onions and garlic create bad breath, but not everyone knows why.
Furthermore, there are other foods other than onions and garlic that contribute to bad breath. Understanding why and how they contribute to bad breath will put a new perspective on how to get rid of bad breath. Although foods not the only culprit of bad breath, cutting down on these foods will decrease bad breath considerably.

Onions and Garlic
Onions and garlic contain powerful volatile sulfur compounds which produce the same odor found in rotten eggs. The chemical makeup of onions and garlic are sulfur compounds themselves. So when you're consuming onions and garlic, you're eating nothing but sulfur compounds.
Milk and Cheese
Milk and cheese are rich in proteins, thus, a feeding ground to these anaerobic bacteria in your mouth. The odor of sour milk is caused by the similar bacteria that create bad breath. When they break down the lactose protein and release of the amino which in turn end up becoming volatile sulfur compounds. If you are lactose intolerant and you want to learn how to get rid of bad breath, do not consume milk as it can make the problem worse. The anaerobic bacteria will break down these proteins in your oral environment for all its worth.
Fish
Fish are very high in proteins and any food that is rich in proteins only feed the bacteria that convert these proteins into sulfur compounds in your mouth.
Coffee
Coffee contains acids. When drinking coffee you make your mouth an acidic environment. This will accelerate the reproduction of bacteria. This is why many people feel a sour metallic taste after drinking a cup of coffee. Replace tea for coffee is an excellent alternative.
Alcohol
Although alcohol is not exactly a food, you must be aware of its nature if you want to know how to get rid of bad breath. Alcohol causes dry mouth and a dry oral environment aids in the increase production of sulfur compounds because the less oxygen in the mouth, the better for the anaerobic bacteria (an=not, aerobic=oxygen) in the mouth.
Almost all of us suffer some degree of bad breath.
By cutting down or replacing these foods with their alternatives will decrease bad breath dramatically. The question is often asked "Is it possible to get rid of bad breath without having to sacrifice the foods we eat?" The answer is yes, but with treatment. Moderate consumption of the "bad" foods combined with proper treatment can result in a fresh breath.

Bad Breath from the Stomach
We all have these bacteria, which make us possible to have bad breath. But, did you know that there are stomach bacteria that cause bad breath? If you think that bad breath is caused only by the bacteria living in your mouth, think again.
It was once suggested that one of the causes of bad breath is Helicobacter Pylori, the organism that causes stomach ulcers and ulcers in the duodenum. There was a laboratory test done that detects the substance in a breath if there's a presence of this organism, but there was no firm proof that Helicobacter pylori is responsible for the unpleasant smell on the breath. Usually, stomach breath doesn't exist. Unless you belch, but the odor that comes out from belching is associated with the food you have eaten.
Bad breath from the stomach is actually not a big of a deal. It is so, because only few bacteria can survive in our stomach due to the very acidic condition down in there.
The only smell that you can detect from the stomach breath (when you belch) is the odor of foods like onions, garlic, or any other food with strong odor, instead of coming from the stomach bacteria that cause bad breath. However, this unpleasant smell is only temporary and will disappear in a day or so.
On rare occasion, a condition other than stomach bacteria that cause bad breath seems to come from lower down in our body. There are some illnesses like cancers that can cause our breath to have an odd smell. Liver or kidney disease can cause unpleasant stomach breath. It is true then that bad breath could be a sign of other serious problem.
If you notice an unpleasant and persistent smell from your breath that is not associated with the food or medications that you have taken, you should consult your doctor for a professional opinion. Do not try to ignore it or treat it by using bad breath products.
For all you know it could be a serious health problem. And, if your concerns are still about stomach bacteria that cause bad breath, or if you think that you have other health problems, these should be discussed with your doctor, as well.
Should your bad breath condition is indeed from your stomach, appropriate treatment must be taken.

How to Relieve the Causes of Bad Breath

The first remedies probably involved chewing aromatic herbs and brushing the teeth with twigs - remedies that are still in use in some traditions today. Though not very sophisticated by today's standards, they do focus on the right objectives: mask the odor and kill off or remove the offensive bacteria that cause the odor in the first place. Many herbs not only have a strong odor but have antiseptic qualities as well.
Chemical antiseptics were a logical step in the development of a halitosis treatment, and they are still widely used today.
Antiseptics and antibiotics in mouthwashes are generally fairly effective at freshening the breath, at least in the short term. More recent experiments have explored the idea of physically removing oral bacteria with oily solutions (bacteria adhere to oil), using oxygen for bad breath producing bacteria, treating with vitamins and minerals, and making lifestyle changes. All of these approaches appear more natural and health-enhancing than using chemicals and antibiotics, and some even offer hope of a curative halitosis treatment that might banish the problem permanently.
Oxygen for bad breath is a logical approach that exploits the knowledge that most offensive breath odor is produced by anaerobic bacteria.
Anaerobic bacteria are those that live in wet enclosed spaces where there is very little air or none at all - anaerobic means no air. Some of these bacteria can tolerate a little bit of oxygen, but none of them can tolerate very much, so delivering oxygen to the mouth, and getting it to penetrate all the tiny creases, grooves, pockets, and crevices in the mouth is lethal to anaerobes. Meanwhile, the oral tissues and the friendly aerobic bacteria in the mouth are completely unharmed by this halitosis treatment - aerobes continue to flourish and multiply, replacing the bad-smelling anaerobes.
If it works as well in practice as it does in theory, oxygen for bad breath should be very effective. The challenge, of course, is to deliver oxygen molecules to the mouth and make sure that they come in contact with the anaerobes. At least one commercial halitosis treatment has developed a system that aims to do that, and the product is doing well. Though the claims for the product do not suggest that it can cure bad breath permanently, it's likely that it could be used in combination with dietary improvements and lifestyle changes to re-establish a healthy, odor free mouth.
Some cases of chronic halitosis signal a health or dental problem that needs medical attention. If oxygen for bad breath or any other over-the-counter or natural remedy fails to give satisfactory results, you should consult your dentist or family doctor to determine whether any medical testing is indicated.
To find the right solution to relieve the symptoms of bad breath, you must determine the cause.
Some causes of bad breath include: improper oral hygiene, medical prescriptions which cause dry mouth, and food trapped between the teeth.
To relieve the causes of bad breath, you should have a breath health regimen in place.
The first step is to determine whether your oral hygiene practices are good. There are proper techniques for brushing and flossing. If you are not sure that the technique you perform is the right one, check with the oral hygienist in your dentist's office.
Next, you should make sure you schedule visits with your dentist twice a year. It is important to have your teeth cleaned professionally. Also, your dentist will be able to tell if you have problems or may foresee a potential problem. They can give you advice on the preventative steps you can take.
Brushing and flossing are the basics of a good breath health regimen.
You should go a step further. Anaerobic bacteria are the cause of most bad breath. These bacteria live on and around your teeth and gum line. They do not need oxygen to thrive. They love protein from the food you eat. When you brush and floss you remove the bacteria from your teeth and the gum line.
The next step is to brush or scape your tongue. And, if you are like me, scraping the tongue can cause you to gag. There are scrapers on the market for this purpose. Most are inexpensive so you can experiment until you find the one that suits you.
Rinsing your mouth should be part of your daily routine.
Most people use a mouth wash purchased at a store. A simple rinse remedy is to dissolve about a quarter teaspoon or less of salt in lukewarm water and gargle. You may rinse your mouth only once a day and that is probably in the morning. It is a good idea to also rinse your mouth before going to bed. Since the mouth is usually closed while sleeping and anaerobic bacteria do not need oxygen, rinsing at night might be more effective.
Dry mouth is another cause of bad breath.
It can be caused by some medications such as Norvasc. Norvasc is prescribed for high blood pressure. Your doctor may be able to prescribe another medication. If not, drink plenty of water to keep your mouth moist. Your saliva will help reduce the bacteria in your mouth.
Using a mouth freshener or breath mint will relieve short-term causes of bad breath.
Short-term bad breath is caused by eating certain foods such as a hamburger with onions. The mouth freshener will work but you may have to use it more than once. These odors tend to stay in the body for about 24 hours.
Do not give up the foods you love. But be aware that you may have bad breath. This can cause embarrassment when you are interacting with others.
Proper attention to your breath health regimen will help you relieve the causes of bad breath.

Van Persie and Rooney on target as Moyes records first win at Old Trafford

RVP-CrystalPalace 2013

Robin van Persie scored a penalty shortly before half-time and Wayne Rooney struck a fine free-kick, as Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 at Old Trafford.
The current champions of the Premier League, were not at their fluent best in Saturday’s early kick-off and struggled to break down a well organised Palace side. Van Persie had two early chances – his audacious flick didn’t come off and his effort from a glorious Rooney pass hit the bar – before Ashley Young’s run into the box was illegally halted.
Dikgacoi was sent off and Van Persie sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.
United failed to make their numerical superiority count in the second half, until the 80th minute, when Rooney’s free-kick squeezed in past Speroni, to hand David Moyes his first win at Old Trafford, in front of the onlooking Sir Alex Ferguson.

Family cries foul as 3-storey building collapses in Enugu

Enugu collapsed building

Collapsed building

A three-storey building collapsed at the early hours of Saturday in Enugu after a heavy downpour.
The house, located at No 16 Nnobi Street, Uwani Enugu, in Enugu South Local Government Area, contains a penthouse.
DailyPost correspondent who visited the site, which is few metres away from the private residence of Governor Sullivan Chime of the state, gathered that the building was completed two years ago.
However, no casualty was recorded as it was yet to be occupied.
As early as 10 a.m, officials from the state ministry of land were already clearing the rubbles with bulldozer.
Some of the witnesses said that they heard a heavy sound as well as people shouting at the early hours of the morning.
One of the witnesses, Mr Chukwuebuka Okonkwo, said that when he heard the bang around 5.30 a.m., he ran out with the members of his family.
“When I heard the sound and people shouting, I thought that it was a bomb blast and I asked members of my family to run for safety.
“When I came out I saw that it was the uncompleted building near my house that was collapsing,’’ he said.
Another witness, Miss Kanayo Enemkpali, said she was shocked that a building nearing completion could collapse in such a manner.
Enemkpali thanked God that no life was lost in the incident.
A family source who spoke on the incident said foul play could not be ruled out as government authorities had allegedly threatened to demolish some part of the building in recent times.
“The commissioner for lands, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ujam visited this place recently demanding that some portion be demolished for car park.
“Not long after that visit, the building collapsed, so as far as we are concerned, we suspect foul play”, he alleged.
He insisted that apart from having a Certificate of Occupancy, approval was equally given by relevant agencies before construction work commenced in the building.
However, reacting to the development, the commissioner for land who was at the site faulted the claims from owners of the building.
According to Ujam, “I don’t see a situation where an approval will be given and the structure would collapse unless an act of God; this is just a clear example of where approval wasn’t given and therefore we are vindicated for the reasons why we didn’t give approvals and you have seen that the building has now come down naturally.
“If you look around, there is a design for the area; it exceeded the number of floors for this particular neighbourhood; there are master plans in place and this clearly exceeded that provision.
“The number of floors in the first instance was exceeded because before they started, they brought drawings and even drawings were not approved. The plan for this area is three floors maximum but they decided to do four floors and a pent house. And you can imagine, building four floors in such a neighbourhood, there was no provision for parking and no consideration of the neighbors.
“At that height, you are already blocking sunlight to the neighbouring properties.
“There were notices served on the owners severally and they even came to my office pleading but I refused and clandestinely they continued with the building because during the day they won’t do anything but at night they start the construction”.
The commissioner said the integrity of the structure was in doubt, adding “it is possible that shoddy materials were used on the onset but then there is a natural alignment in building a house to the size of land that it sits on; clearly something has gone amiss”.
“Obviously in matters like this, a full scale investigation would be carried out; a panel will be set up; that will be done immediately; as you can see, senior officials of government are here and have taken a serious view of what is going on; we also hope that this will serve as a deterrent to others. We thank God there is no loss of lives”, he noted.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Enugu Capital Territory Development, Mr Ikechukwu Ugwuegede, said that government would commence full investigations into the incident.
He said the investigation would unravel if professionals and standard materials were used in the project.
“We will identify all the people involved including the owner, the contractor and architect in the investigation because from all indication, it is a clear case of structural defect,’’ he said.
Ugwuegde said that his officers had not seen the owner of the building as all efforts to reach him failed.
A construction company, Arab Contractors, and the state Fire Service were also on ground to remove the debris.

Disband ASUU now – Rev. Okoh tells FG

archbishop_nicholas_okoh

Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, , has called on the federal government to disband the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU,
According to him, the methods adopted by ASUU were highly immoral and must be discouraged.
Okoh made this call in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on Thursday, during the Standing Committee Meeting of the Bishops Conference of the church.
He said, “The government should find a way either to privatise universities or get ASUU to be limited to individual universities such that there will be no national ASUU body, mandating even institutions without grievances to go on strike.
“There is no such body anywhere in the world. Challenges facing any institution should be treated locally without involving others.
“While the ASUU strike lasts, university lecturers are busy teaching in private universities (most of which lack lecturers) and earning money and when the strike is over, they will still be paid for the period of the strike.
“This is highly immoral and must be discouraged.”
The cleric urged government to agree to the demands of ASUU, describing the academic, moral and social implications of the strike as enormous.
He further warned politicians to beware of those who had earlier predicted that Nigeria would break up by 2015.
He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure honesty and transparency while discharging its responsibility to the nation.
“INEC should rise above regional, ethnic, religious partisanship and deliver to Nigerians, the truth, the whole truth and nothing short of that,” Okoh said.
He appealed to the nation’s youth to avoid violence and other political vices while taking part in politics ahead of 2015.
Okoh said, “We make a sincere appeal to politicians as they plan, disagree, challenge one another and engage in high political maneuvering, to ensure that the entity called Nigeria is spared from harm.
“We should not walk into the traps of our external detractors who had already predicted a break-up of the country in 2015.”
“We appeal to our youth to take part in politics but steer clear of political thuggery. You should not allow yourselves to be used for assassination, arson, kidnapping, maiming, looting, and intimidation of opponents.
“Don’t die for any political party or any candidate because Nigeria needs you tomorrow.

2015: The handwriting is on the wall; Jonathan will fail woefully

Dino Melaye prezzer

A former member of the House of Representatives, and Executive Secretary, Anti-corruption Network, Otumba Dino Melaye has advised President Goodluck Jonathan to forget his 2015 ambition.
According to him, the handwriting is on the wall that he will fail woefully.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, the former lawmaker noted that president Jonathan lacked the ability and capacity to win any other election in the country.
Melaye said the best option left for the president is to announce that he would not contest in the coming election.
He avowed that even if Jonathan drops his second term ambition, it would not stop Nigerians from demanding the probe of his administration.
The activist noted that Jonathan has presided over the most corrupt government in the history of the country.
Asked why he was so sure that Jonathan would fail woefully if he runs for a second term, he said the president’s poor calculation in determining the speaker of the House of Representatives and chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum as well as his being deserted by the People’s Democratic Party(PDP)’s governors, were the basis of his conclusions.
He said, “If the president is sensitive enough, he ought to have known that he is surrounded by people who lack dexterity and strategy, he should know that he does not have the political wherewithal to even attempt to contest the 2015 election. When he fielded the candidate for the speaker of the House of Representatives, he was defeated woefully and this is the first time in the history of the country that a president could not have a say on who becomes the speaker.

Revolution has started in Nigeria – Fayemi

Dr-Kayode-Fayemi1
Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, Friday stated that a revolution has started already in Nigeria and it will not stop until the needed holistic change, which all Nigerians are craving for is realised.
Fayemi stated this yesterday while speaking at the official launch of the All Progressive Change, APC, in Ekiti State at Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.
The governor said the APC was no longer an opposition party but an alternative government, which the nation has graciously accepted.
According to him, the FG is now the opposition part, which has been trying to impeach an elected government at the state level.
“You can see what they have done in Rivers State, trying to remove a democratically elected government there,” he said.
He added that change has started in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Edo, Imo, Zanfara, Yobe, and Borno states, stressing that very soon, it will spread across the country.
“Our party, APC is the alternative party and if you go to Lagos, Ogun and all these 11 states where APC is fully in control, you will see these positive changes we have been talking about.
Earlier, Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State said “change is the main thing Nigerians are asking for now. APC is that change, which they are seriously yearning for. The nation cannot continue like this, there must be a change.”

Boko Haram: Soldiers kill scores; rescue traders, travellers along Banki road in Borno

Unspecified number of insurgents were said to have met their waterloo in an encounter with security agents along Banki-Bama road in Borno State.
They were said to have mounted a road block, robbing traders and travelers along the road.
A statement from the seven division Nigerian Army reads: “At about 11:35 hours on 13th September, 2013, some troops of Banki Forward Operating Base, BFOB, on a mission of 202 Battalion Bama, on their way back to Banki, a boarder town with Cameroun Republic encountered some Boko Haram terrorists along Bama-Banki road carrying out armed robbery activities on innocent traders and travelers.”
According to the statement issued by Lt. Col. Sagir Musa, the spokesman of the newly established seven divisions Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, the troops succeeded in killing many of the insurgents during the encounter.
The statement also said the renewed threat and tactics employed by the Boko Haram as a means of survival following their dislodgement from their various camps within and outside the state was not new to military as such, they would be checkmated by soldiers.
The statement further stated that the Boko Haram terrorist’s camps in some parts of Borno State had recently come under heavy fire that forced many of the terrorists who escaped to scavenge for food from villagers.
“The terrorists have also resorted to robbing innocent civilians and killed three passengers after collecting unspecified amount of cash and food items from them in their recent attack on victims along Bama- Banki road”, the statement added.
Musa said an intelligence information available to them also indicated that the terrorists had written threat letters to Dikwa Market/traders demanding N1 million to enable them purchase food items and other logistical requirement or be ready to face deadly attacks.

Benue lawyer catches wife in bed with okada rider.

A lawyer, Terkula Pepe, has dragged his wife, Joy, to a magistrate court sitting in Makurdi, Benue State, over infidelity and lack of respect.
Pepe told the honourable court led by Magistrate Felicia Ikyegh that he caught his wife pants down with a commercial motorcycle rider, otherwise known as okada right inside his matrimonial home.
He said, “My wife never had respect for me throughout our marriage. She brought in her lover, an okada boy, who usually conveys her home and they were making love right inside my bedroom.
“Despite all these, I still opened a mini shop for her with N550,000 but unfortunately she ran the shop down.”
The magistrate said, “It is very clear from the evidence before me that the respondent, apart from being unfaithful to the husband, committed so many other atrocities.
“It is also a shame that she deceived herself and her husband for three years on the pretext of schooling at the Benue State University. She never attended a single lecture but was collecting schools fees for the said years.
The magistrate noted that the wife, “whimsically agreed to have a divorce – without denying the allegations.”
Terkula said, “Throughout our marriage, I was subjected to severe mental and psychological torture by the acts of my wife.
“My legal profession is currently under threat by her numerous atrocities and her refusal to be trained or developed educationally or vocationally since our marriage.”
Consequently, the court dissolved the five-year-old marriage.

Court sentences 4 men to death for gang rape and murder of student

The four Indian men who attacked and raped a 23 year old student on a Delhi bus on December 16th 2012, have been sentenced to death by hanging. An Indian court ruled today Friday September 13th that the men deserved to die for the vicious attack which left the victim with such severe internal injuries she died two weeks later.

The victim and her boyfriend had been returning from a movie date when they encountered the rapists inside one of India’s many private buses. The driver of the bus and four friends had taken the bus out into the night, looking for sex. Unfortunately the victim and her boyfriend got into the bus not knowing what would happen next.

According to court documents, the men attacked the couple, beating them before taking the woman to the back of the bus and raping her one by one, then penetrating her body with iron rods. She died at a hospital in Singapore several days later. The bus driver, Ram Singh, committed suicide in his jail cell in March. The judge said in court today that they are hoping the sentence will serve as a ‘strong deterrent’ to others in a country where crimes against women, especially rape, is on the rise

'My ordeal in the hands of kidnappers' - Mike Ozekhome recounts.

The human rights lawyer (pictured above with his wife after his release) who said he will never forget his experience in the hands of his abductors, narrated his ordeal to journalists in his home in Lagos.

Ozekhome, who had grown a beard, said he was driven on a rough road for about four hours to a jungle far removed from civilisation blindfolded, after he was captured close to Benin City about 3pm on August 23, 2013.

According to Ozekhome, the abductors took him to an uncompleted building in the bush while a colony of mosquitos descended and fed on him and other hostages like barbeque in the camp.

According to him, from the moment of his abduction on August 23, he and 12 other victims were blindfolded by the gang in the camp. Continue...

Ozekhome also said any time they wanted to speak to their abductors, they must face the ground, as looking at them (kidnappers) could hand the offender instant death sentence.

“Every 24 hours of the day, we had death sentence hanging on our head. When any of the kidnappers wanted to speak to us, we must face the wall or the ground. They treated me gently because they said they had discovered I’m on the side of the masses, that I have been fighting for the masses.

Speaking further, he explained that his psychological and physical trauma was compounded when his son, Barrister Ilugbekhai and one of his juniors in chambers, Barrister Dominic Ezerioha, were lured and eventually detained with him in the camp.

He described his abductors as highly organised and well educated, which, according to him, made it difficult for security operatives to track them down.

He said: “Even when making phone calls to the families of the victims, they travelled across four or five states so that where they make the calls was different from where their victims were kept. They discussed national issues with high intellect.

“These are graduates of various disciplines, I believe. They understand philosophy, history, political science and, as I said, they have their medical team. One of them said he had graduated for six years without a job and they argued that only 1 per cent of Nigerians have fraudulently cornered the nation’s wealth; so they raise argument to justify their actions.”

“They vowed that, in 2015, they will move against the politicians who they accused of being in the habit of using and dumping them. I asked them, what is the way out? They requested that the federal government should also grant them amnesty and that they are ready to lay down their arms if they are given amnesty just like the Niger Delta militants.

“They said they are ready to come out of the jungle to remove their masks and join the roundtable talk if there is assurance that they will not be arrested by the government.”

According to Ozekhome, the kidnappers have several units and cells across the nation. “For example, they mentioned several notable Nigerians who had been kidnapped in the past in the north, east and west, which they claimed were through their network.”

Contrary to the general belief that the kidnappers usually conduct background information about their victims, Ozekhome said his abductors told him that they just operate randomly and that they don’t profile anybody before they are captured.

“For example, they said they did not know me. They searched through my pocket. They collected everything including my card. So when they asked for my name and I told them, they said yes it is true.”

Moving forward, Ozekhome urged the federal government to declare a state of emergency on insecurity. According to him, a situation where none of us is safe on the road, in the air, on the water, in the day time or at night is a serious and monumental problem and we cannot continue to fold our hands.

He linked the problem of insecurity fundamentally to the massive youth unemployment in the country which he described as complex and gargantuan.

Consequently, he called on the government to declare a state of emergency on youth unemployment as any further delay may spell doom for the nation. He described youth unemployment as the father of Boko Haram, militancy, kidnapping and robbery.

Photo: 400 level student caught with cocaine at Akanu Ibiam Airport

A 400-level student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Anambra, was arrested this week at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu State, for ingesting 25 wraps of male condoms filled with cocaine.

32 year old Chizoba Nwabuwa arrived aboard an Ethiopian Airline flight from Brazil when he tested positive to liquid cocaine, which weighed 1.250kg. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency officials say this is the first drug seizure to be made at the newly refurbished international airport.

NDLEA in a statement, said:
“The suspect excreted 25 wraps of a liquid substance that tested positive for cocaine, weighing 1.250kg. This is the first drug seizure to be made at the airport; it is exciting because we have just commenced operations.”
The Fine and Applied Arts 400-level student said he agreed to carry the drugs because his cohorts promised him N500, 000 as compensation and he wanted to use the money to develop his art gallery. Chizoba said his handlers assured him that authorities will not be able to detect liquid cocaine, so he was confident. Well, they did and now he will be facing the full wrath of the law. Emmy Collins likens Omotola’s “Muyiwa goes to Nollywood” outfit to Big Bird from Sesame Street

When Nollywood sensation, Omotola Ekeinde  arrived at the “Muyiwa goes to nollywood” event in a feathered pink dress days ago, the outfit got tongues wagging.
Many of her fans were impressed with the gorgeous outfit but several others didn’t find it attractive.
emmy collins and omotola
Unfortunately, Designer and blogger, Emmy Collins has likened Omotola’s purple lace and fur dress to ” Big Bird from Sesame Street” and Bjork swan dress – a character in the long running children’s TV show.
He wrote;
Please take a good look at big bird from Sesame Street and you will agree with me that there is a striking resemblance to Omotola in this outfit. One could say that both images may seem a little disparate in the sense that Omotola`s outfit isn`t as bird-y as big bird’s(I am not even sure there is a word as bird-y but I’m just short of words here that I have resulted to a little innovation). The only difference here is simply the choice of colour.Mr Big bird went for yellow feathers while Omo-sexy (ok,that was so tongue in cheek) opted for purple. On the other hand Omotola could have been looking to recreate the Bjork swan dress but I am a bit gutted that she developed cold feet by doing away with what could have completed the joke, the swan`s head.
Now,I dare any ardent fan of Omotola to argue that she doesn`t need another stylist? You need to be skinny to have the slimmest chance of pulling off this dress as the feathers or whatever it is, makes you appear bigger than you actually are.

Jonathan Administration Burning N662m On 53 Gold Iphones

Gold Iphones Gold Iphones
Confirming its reputation for corruption and irresponsibility, the Goodluck Jonathan government has ordered 53 gold-plated iPhones at an incredible N662 million to “celebrate” 53 years of political independence.
Amjad Ali, the 42-year old British owner of Gold and Co., based in Dubai, told London’s The Independent newspaper he received an order from the Nigerian government for the 53 gold phones to mark Nigeria’s independence from Britain in October.  Basic models of the gold or rose gold start from £3,000.  “We will engrave them with the coat of arms, a shield and two horses,” he said.
According to The Independent, Ali supplies royal families, governments, and minted customers across Russia, China and the Middle East with gold-plated devices that cost up to £50,000.
Ali has pre-ordered hundreds of the new iPhones which he will then work on for the luxury market, such as Nigeria, where federal universities have been closed for nearly 10 weeks because the government has refused to pay university teachers.
“We strip the units down and then plate them in copper, nickel and then pure gold,” he told the newspaper. “We have limited units per region and each is numbered and placed in a handmade wooden box with a certificate of authenticity and wax seal.”
Jonathan is embroiled in several political battles in Nigeria, where the floundering economy, ravaged by corruption, is being held together by band aid policies.  His governing Peoples Democratic Party broke into two in front of him days ago during a political convention where seven governors and a former vice-president walked away from undemocratic practices to form the ‘New PDP.’
Although he fired nine Ministers earlier today to give the impression of motion within the government, the most corrupt ones were left untouched.
At Nigeria’s independence commemoration in three weeks as he prepares to run for the presidency again in 2015,  Mr. Jonathan is expected to announce that his government is doing very well.  He has previously stated that only the United States is combating corruption more than he is doing.

Plot to remove David Mark gets underway

Even as the National Assembly is yet to resume from its long recession, there is fear amongst members who have their ears on ground that the ongoing crisis in the folds of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, may be extended to the National Assembly in a more intense manner.
Popular report has it that some Senators in the National Assembly who are loyal to the faction of the “New PDP” under the leadership of Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje are plotting for the removal of the Senate President, David Alechenu Bonaventure Mark. The said party faction are said to have resolved to take early step towards Marks removal, after having failed to remain sensitive to their plights and the plights of his other colleagues in the National Assembly.
Also jittering over the fever of the impeachment plot is the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon Chukwuemeka Ihedioha who represents Aboh/Mbaise/Ngor Okpala federal constituency in Imo state. Ihedioha has been in the position since 2003.
A member of the House of Representatives from one of the North Central states who had pleaded anonymity disclosed that the move against these two principal lawmakers was not unconnected to the lingering crises rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, which he said resulted from the 2015 ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The source had revealed that the Senate President, David Mark is allegedly sympathetic to the cause of President Goodluck Jonathan and has not been walking on the “the path of revolution” that is expected of the 7th Senate like that of House of Representatives.
The Senate President was also blamed for taking All Progressives Congress(APC) members “as friends”, thus, dinning and winning with PDP members in the day while fraternising with APC in the dark, especially on issues of national concern, a state development, the source avowed was detrimental to the expected harmony and peace of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
DailyPost had learnt that since rumours raided the air over the 2015 ambition of Senator Mark, some members of the Senate, especially those from the North-East and North-West geo-political zones have remained on the watch, and strategizing on the possible approach to remove the Okpokpowulu, as he is fondly called by his kinsmen, from office.
Undoubtedly, the National Assembly has since the beginning of the ongoing PDP crisis been divided against itself. The division has been aggravated by the recent national convention saga, after which the Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha has gone into galvanising and mobilising members of the House of Representatives from SouthEast and South-South to support President Goodluck Jonathan. The Northern lawmakers, especially those loyal to the ‘nPDP’ have as a result of this development vowed to unseat both Mark and Ihedioha, by making them the first victims of the crisis.
DailyPost has gathered that some influential members of the“New PDP” are already lobbying and negotiating with the APC to actualize their interest. One of the gladiators in this ongoing negotiation as revealed by our source is Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Senate Committee Chairman on Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development, representing Kaduna North Senatorial District. Another PDP heavyweight who is also in the ‘lobby’ front is Bukola Saraki.
Meanwhile, our source has revealed that Mark is said to have travelled out of the country and may be returning to the country as soon as the recession is over.

Rivers state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, said on Thursday that Governor Amaechi and no fewer than 70 visitors were denied access to his private residence in the Government House.
“The governor was coming back with his visitors, former speakers of Houses of Assembly, he was blocked on his way into the government house, leading to his private entrance.
“The police blocked the road, the governor came down and identified himself, but they told him they had orders from the commissioner of police.
“Gov. Amaechi, therefore, had to go through a longer route to get to the Government House,’’ Semenitari said.
Semenitari described the action of the police as illegal, unconstitutional, and an insult on the office of the governor of Rivers.
Meanwhile, the police command in Rivers said that its men did not block the entrance leading to Gov. Chibuike Amaechi’s residence.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Angela Agabe, stated that the state commissioner of police did not give such order.
“I am aware that the state commissioner of police did not give such order to block the entrance leading to the governor’s residence.
“He did not do it and did not instruct our officers to do such a thing,’’ Agabe said.

2015: Stop deceiving yourself, you can’t win without us – New PDP tells Jonathan

As the crisis currently rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, continues to deepen, the ‘New PDP’ has told President Goodluck Jonathan that his 2015 second term ambition remains unrealistic without them.
According to them, Jonathan should stop deceiving himself as those behind him are just wolves in sheep clothing, as they can not even deliver their own wards to the president come 2015.
The ‘New PDP’ stated this in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze in Abuja on Wednesday.
Eze said, “Mr. President should not be deceived by some party leaders who are making him believe that he can do without us.
“Most of these leaders currently cannot under a properly organised free and fair elections win their wards.
“It is obvious that no presidential election in Nigeria can be won without states like Rivers, Kano, Sokoto, Adamawa, Kwara, Niger States, Jigawa and Kebbi states; and these are states we are controlling.
“Check the past general elections and see that some of these media-created PDP leaders have no followers in their states at the moment, let alone making any impact come 2015.”
The governors in the New PDP include the Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido; Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko; Governor of Kano State, Mr. Rabiu Kwankwanso; Niger State Governor, Aliyu Babangida; Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed and the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.
However, the inclusion of Kebbi State among other states was not clear at the moment as the governor, Alhaji Seidu Dakingari was yet to make up his mind.
Eze also dispelled ongoing rumours that former President, Olusegun Obasanjo was behind the ongoing crisis in the PDP.
According to him, “We view this as creating the impression that we are not mature enough to determine our political future and most importantly, it was an attempt to smear the international image of Obasanjo as a distinguished statesman and father of PDP and rubbish his current efforts to restore peace to a party which is being threatened by the undemocratic acts of some of its leaders,” the statement added,” he added.
