'Instead of clipping them back, I'd fill them in as they grew. I kept living and they kept growing.

Chris strengthened her nails using acrylic on the outside and inside of the nails.
This also helps to balance the weight on each hand.
Chris claims to have only lost a nail once, when fixing her car engine on the freeway, and otherwise has no trouble leading a normal life.

Anambra Police Commissioner arrests businessman who stripped female police officer naked

The Police in Anambra State has arrested Chief Ngozi Okpagu, the businessman who last week allegedly stripped naked Tochukwu Offorchebe, a female police officer.
Okpagu, a revered motor park owner had last week torn the dress of a female police officer on duty for challenging him after he threatened to effect his transfer.
Though he was later released allegedly on bail immediately after visiting some important offices at police headquarters in Awka, a source said in the statement he made, he denied the incident, saying that nobody was stripped.
Also in a statement, DSP Emeka Chukwuemeka , the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of Anambra State police command said, “at no point was T/WG3 Tochukwu Oforchebe attached to Divisional Police Headquarters Fegge and posted to Head Bridge, Onitsha stripped naked.
“The said Tochukwu continuously refused ceaseless amorous advances made to her by the so-called big man who promised to teach her a lesson of her life for daring to say no to his request.
“The man in question , a stark illiterate and a tout who manages one of the parks at Onitsha on sighting Tochukwu in her duty post alighted from his car and held her uniform, this drew the ire of other policemen on duty who made efforts to arrest him before he quickly disappeared from the scene.
“The other story that he once assaulted a commissioner of police in the state is baseless, unfounded and contains no iota of truth. The Anambra police command has arrested the so called ‘big man’, and he is presently in our custody while investigation into the matter is on going”.

ASUU strike has forced students into crime – NANS

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has blamed the astronomical rise in crime among young Nigerians on the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
According to NANS, most of the recent crimes were allegedly carried out by students, who are currently affected by the ongoing strike that resulted from the face-off between the Federal Government and ASUU.
The Association, while appealing to the striking lecturers and the Federal Government urged them to arrive at a compromise so students could go back to school.
Acting Senate President of NANS, Mr. John Shima, made this appeal while addressing a press conference in Abuja on Monday.
Shima recalled that about three academic years had been lost to strikes in the last 10 years.
According to him, the lost academic sessions were enough for a student to graduate from an undergraduate course in other climes.
He said, “ASUU and the Federal Government should go back to the negotiating table. Even after wars, issues are resolved at a round table. Nigerian students are tired of sitting at home.
The students’ body commended the immediate past education Minister , Prof. Ruqqayatu Rufa’I for a good job while in office. NANS equally appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan to urgently appoint a substantive minister to head the Education Ministry.

I know individuals, groups involved in corruption but I will not expose them – President Jonathan

amaechi and jonathan_PH1

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday had disclosed to a section of Nigerians that he personally knows some persons involved in corruption, but would not reveal their identity and would prefer to remain silent over it.
“When you talk about corruption, the private sector is involved; the public sector is involved; even the individuals including other societies, and I wouldn’t want to mention names so that I will not be attacked,” he said.
The statement has however drew criticism from different individuals at the gathering.
A member of the audience, when asked to respond to the comment, told DailyPost that, “This is what we are saying. Why can’t Mr. President indict the people. What or who is he scared of,” the financial expert asked rhetorically.
Mr. Jonathan had at the gathering lamented that in spite of the institutional reforms aimed at fighting corrupt practices, Nigerians, through their actions, still reward corruption.
He spoke on Tuesday in Abuja while declaring open the 54th annual conference of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) with the theme, “Institutions, Institutional Reforms and Economic Development”.
The President stated that, if Nigerians do not reward corrupt practices, those who enriched themselves through dubious means would not be celebrated today, adding that the fight against corruption is not what the government alone can handle.
He accused both public and private institutions of being involved in sharp practices.
“We believe that we should not create an environment where people would be tempted to take what belongs to the public because that is why even in the fertiliser business, we talk about electronic wallet so that funds are not exposed to corrupt people,” he said.

“But I know that if collectively, all of us don’t reward corruption, people would not be attracted to corrupt practices, but when we all reward corruption, then of course, we will be tempted to go in that direction.”

Jonathan pledged that his administration would continue to focus on how to strengthen all anti-corruption agencies to step up the fight against corruption.
“In this regard, the leadership of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences have been repositioned to ensure more effective, efficient and transparent way of managing corruption and corrupt practices”
“I want a society where all of us will frown upon people who come up with what they are not supposed to have.
Giving an instance, the President said “If a young man who just started a job and within six months or a year comes up with a car of N7m to N15m and you clap for him, then you are rewarding corruption.
“So for us as a nation to bring corruption down in Nigeria, it is not just blaming government or blaming police, but all individuals must frown upon people who have what they are not supposed to have; who live in houses they are not supposed to live in; who drive cars they are not supposed to drive and who wear the most expensive suits.”

I’m tired of talking about 2face Idibia – Blackface denies replying ex band member

tuface-blackface
Augustine Garuba Obiabo Ahmedu, otherwise known as Blackfaze Naija has debunked the news making the rounds in the media that he has reacted to the recent interview, where his former band-mate, Innocent Ujah Idibia, famously known as 2Face alleged that he actually invited him to his wedding in Dubai, but he declined invitation.
Tuface in the said interview claimed that he had paid Blackfaze some money as royalty for co-writing his hit song, African Queen, and that such amount should settle a responsible man.
An Abuja based radio station, Hotfm had reported that Black has reacted to the interview, stating that 2face keeps avoiding him for reasons best known to him.
But speaking exclusively with DailyPost on telephone, the Agatu-born Benue State artist said he never granted anybody interview.
“For me, this is not an issue, I don’t know why this Tuface issue keeps coming up everyday. I didn’t grant anybody interview. Honestly. I’m tired of talking about Tuface. We all have our lives to live, enough of this Tuface thing abeg; I’m tied, he told our correspondent.
Meanwhile, Blackface’s latest singles, entitled ‘See You Move and Internet Song’ are currently enjoying massive airplay on some radio stations across the country.

“I don’t know if Rooney is happy at United or not” – Moyes

Rooney-Moyes
David Moyes has admitted that he does not know if Wayne Rooney is happy at Old Trafford or not.
The England striker bagged a brace and an assist, as Manchester United opened their Champions League campaign, with a 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.
When he was asked about the 28-year-old’s state of mind after the game, Moyes said he is not sure himself, although the forward looks sharp in training and matches.
“I don’t know,” the United boss told ITV Sport. “I just know that he’s been great in training, he’s worked really hard, he’s fit, he looks fit and lean and he showed in his performance [on Tuesday] again.
“I’ve only seen a few goals, I’m only just here. I said a month ago he’s got a chance to join the real greats here with his goalscoring record.
“I thought his goals [against Leverkusen] were great, he got round the goalkeeper and that could’ve been the hat-trick, obviously his second at the time, but he deserved the ovation that he got, his performance was terrific.”
The former Everton boss, also expressed his delight at the understanding between Rooney and Robin van Persie.
“I think they’re both such good players – Robin’s goal as well was great,” Moyes added. “Robin could have had another one as well.
“I said a week or so ago if we could get those two scoring the goals and the ratio through the season then they’d be formidable and obviously it would help get us as many points as we can.
“It was a good night. We did a lot of good things, missed a couple of chances which kept it a little bit anxious at one or two moments but good job.”

ASUU strike: Stop misleading Nigerians – Union tells Suswam Committee

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has accused Benue State Governor and chairman, Implementation Committee of Public Universities Needs Assessment Report, Gabriel Suswam of deceiving and misleading Nigerians.
The Union said Suswam was politicising the ongoing strike by ASUU in order to mislead Nigerians, with a view to making political gains out of the impasse.
ASUU stated this in a communiqué signed by the Bauchi zonal coordinator of the Union, Dr. Usman M. Abubakar, after a crucial meeting in Yola.
It said the Suswam committee had no business negotiating with the striking lecturers because it was only set up as an ‘implementation committee’, with a mandate to implement the recommendations of the technical committee on needs assessment of public universities, and as approved by the Federal Executive Council and the National Economic Council.
“The fact that the governor kept aside those recommendations and came up with his own selected recommendations clearly indicates the interest to mislead, deceive or do mischief”, the statement noted, adding that in its aim to subvert the initial agreement reached between ASUU and the federal government, Governor Suswam picked up only four items out of the total number of agreements reached for implementation.
“Suswam picked only four items: hostels, empty laboratories, lecture halls and empty libraries for construction, with no roadmap nor commitment for executing the other requirements, which is against even the technical committee’s recommendation which serialized the requirements of each university in a prioritized manner.
“We view this as a fire-brigade attempt to break the strike and not to solve the universities’ problems of rot and decay which we are on strike for.”
The statement noted that even the N100billion presented to the universities was deceptively obtained through the blockage of the regular special interventions of TET fund to universities for the year, 2013.
“By this, it is clear that no money was really brought into the system; rather the little that was provided to the universities is what is now recycled as new funds,” he said.
He stated further that, “Going by the MoU reached in 2012, the federal government ought to have provided N500billion in capital funding by 2013, so even if the N100billion claimed was actually provided and not recycled, it would be only 20 percent of the real requirements and would do little in addressing the deplorable state of public universities.”
The Union also accused Suswam’s committee of allocating the sum of N1.975billion as project administration cost to itself which made no meaning since the committee was not supposed to administer any project, but to just distribute the funds.
