How we robbed Pasuma of his Range sport & shared the money – Robber confesses

The suspects  identified as Fatai Balogun, Wale Akinjobi and Gbenga Kolawole during interrogation, confessed to have come all the way from Ogun state to operate.
A source, who craved anonymity  told Crime Alert that the police launched a manhunt for the gang after  Pasuma’s encounter, during which  they were  intercepted.
The gang, as gathered, also attacked a wealthy man in Iju Ishaga area of Lagos, where they robbed him of N500,000, his mobile phones and other valuables. After the operation, one of them, Wale who resides around the area reportedly dug a hole at the back of his compound where he buried his weapon.
But unknown to him, a resident said to have sighted him,  alerted the police who quickly arrested him and transferred him to the SARS.During interrogation, Wale reportedly confessed that his gang robbed Pasuma of his Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle, SUV, and an unspecified amount of  money, four months ago in Lagos. His confessional statement, as gathered, led to the arrest of other suspected members.
Fatai Balogun, told  Crime Alert that leader of the gang, Ade, got the highest share from Pasuma’s loot.
“He was the one who searched Pasuma and collected money from him. But  nobody knew the amount he got. Few days later, he bought a Toyota Camry car with the loot but gave us  peanuts.   I have gone on several operations with Ade. One of them was at Ajah area where we snatched a car at gun point along Epe road. We did that operation with Ade’s car but we had a little problem on the road after Ade ran into a ditch. We had to  abandon the car when policemen came looking for us but Ade later sent a towing vehicle to retrieve the car.
Wale  brought the job that landed  me in trouble. He told me  there was a  rich man who lives in his area, that  he would want me to follow him execute the job because he does not have the expertise to do it. I accepted because the job was an easy one, as there won’t  be much huddles  getting inside. We were three in number that went for the operation.
I took N120,000 and gave Wale and Gbenga their  share. I sold the laptops  we took from the man for N40,000 each and at the end, I relocated to my base in Abeokuta, Ogun State.  I don’t know how Wale mishandled  the gun he used for the operation, which led to his being sighted by one of his neighbors,”he stated.

If Nigerians don’t want you, please go in peace – Gumi tells Jonathan

PIC.2. FROM LEFT: VICE-PRESIDENT NAMADI SAMBO; CHIEF OF STAFF, CHIEF MIKE OGHIADOMHE AND PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN AFTER BREAKING FAST IN ABUJA ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

Respected Islamic scholar, Sheik Ahmad Gumi yesterday took a swipe on President Goodluck Jonathan when he accused him of being too desperate for power at the expense of the nation.
The cleric also accused “Jonathan’s people” as being behind the crises facing the country, said the bombings from October 1, 2010 to date were largely scripted play being acted out.
Gumi, who took to Facebook to pour out his anger, said Jonathan should kindly resign if Nigerians don’t want him.
He however added that despite all the challenges, Nigeria will still survive.
He said, “Yes, from the onset, Mr Goodluck was apparently in a struggle to grab power and to cling to power even if that is at the cost of innocent Nigerian lives. Well it turned out that his people were the culprits.
“Like Boko Haram, Nigeria can only boast of its success on its survival. We see despite heavy fatalities and injuries of thousands of people and the grounded economic life of the North East, the purported Boko Haram leader can only boast on his ability to prove he is still alive. Just like Boko Haram, Nigeria is real but unrealistic, naïve and self annihilating, why? Because those that lead the two phenomena are dehumanised of all human sensibilities. They trade blood for power!
“The mere survival of Nigeria as a unified entity is the only successful story in the 53 years of its independence. Mr Jonathan should know that power is no substitute for blood, i.e. you cannot spill other people’s blood to stay in power and remain flourishing.
You should ask Assad about that. You can call (General) Sisi in Egypt and ask him about that.
The psycho-trauma is enough to finish one’s life,” Gumi said.
He further said that nobody was safe in the country today. “Anybody can be attacked and killed, or framed up and arrested. You see or hear of law and order, it is only in books and the compromised newspapers and media. Journalism is dead, justice in the court of law is absent, intellectuals are neutralised, and the populace is largely left poor and uneducated.”
He said the late General Shuwa was gruesomely murdered under the very eyes of his army guards without resistance in Maiduguri and no military panel was set up to investigate the killing of such a national hero that fought to keep Nigeria a united country.
“Jonathan has only one option left for him. Let him conduct a free and fair election in 2015, from PDP primary elections to the national elections. Let him not be deceived by those wolves that want to push him to his expiration for their corrupt lifestyles. Please Mr Jonathan, if Nigerians don’t want you, please go in peace,” Gumi said.

Boko Haram Kill 44 Students In Yobe

44 students of the College of Agriculture, Gujba, lost their lives and four students were injured while 18 others were missing after their hostels were torched with Improvised Explosive Devices and petrol-bombs at 1.30 a.m.
Gujba is 30 kilometres south of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital and homestead of the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau.
In a separate attack, gunmen slit the throats of four persons at Mallumti village on Saturday while returning to Maiduguri in the evening.
According to an eyewitness who is an official of the college, the gunmen stormed the premises in Hilux and Gold Volkswagen vehicles and motorcycles. He said that they killed 44 students after closing all the gates to prevent the escape of the victims from their hostels.
He said about 18 students were abducted by the attackers, before ordering others not to flee. The latter were either shot dead or injured in the three-hour attacks on the hostels and classrooms.
The eyewitness continued: “I cannot tell you the exact number of students injured in yesterday’s attacks. I am certain that four of our students were taken to Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital, Damaturu, for treatment, while the 44 bodies of the students are at the hospital morgue for further identification by the college authorities and parents.”
Eighteen students of Government Secondary School, Mamudo, were killed by Boko Haram gunmen on July 6, 2013. The Buni/Yadi attacks of last Thursday also claimed the lives of three persons, including the wife of a police officer.
“The students were caught unawares last night when the gunmen shut the gates of the college, and started to shoot at any of the students at sight. The only students that escaped the torching and killings here yesterday were the ones that hid in the ceilings. But the attackers were able to abduct 18 students to an unknown destination,” he said.
Confirming the incident yesterday in Damaturu, the spokesman of Three Division Special Operations Battalion, Captain Eli Lazarus, said: “The Boko Haram insurgents attacked a college of agriculture in the early hours of today (Sunday) and shot dead over 40 students sleeping in their hostels. We have deployed our men, based on the information the people gave us, and I assured you that we will get them, as the soldiers are tracing the routes they had taken, after the insurgents’ attacks and killings at the college yesterday night.”
On preventing similar attacks, he said: “Our men cannot be everywhere in this state to prevent insurgents from attacking or killing. What we do is to rely on the information provided by the local people before the soldiers could pursue the insurgents that have been attacking towns and villages outside Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.”
He said the soldiers were combing the Gujba-Goniri forests, as the locals identified the routes the insurgents had taken to flee at dawn.
The Borno Police Commissioner, Lawal Tanko, also confirmed the attacks on the Maiduguri-Damaturu Road, stating that four passengers and motorists were killed by slitting their throats by 5.27 p.m. on Saturday.

ASUU strike: We are not sure when it will end – Fagge

ASUU-president-Fagge

The President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dr. Nasir Isa Fagge has said that although the Union has begun consultations among its members following discussions with Vice President, Namadi Sambo, it cannot confirm when it will call off the ongoing strike.
Fagge spoke with journalists in Makurdi shortly after the Union’s congress meeting at the Benue State University.
According to him, the body’s position would be made known to the public after consultations are concluded.
President Jonathan had two weeks ago delegated his Deputy, Sambo, to take over negotiation with ASUU after several efforts by Benue state Governor, Gabriel Suswam-led Needs Assessment Implementation Committee failed.
The Union leader maintained that the struggle would continue until the 2009 agreement was met.
He added that all ASUU wants is “implementation of the recommendation of the National Coordinating Committee, which would enable our universities to be fully engaged in research to produce graduates that would meet the test of time.”
Fagge denied insinuation that it was playing politics with the strike, insisting that the federal government is the party doing so.
Reacting on the threat by Governor Gabriel Suswam to enforce the labour law of’ ‘ no work no pay’ on the striking BSU lecturers as from this month, if they fail to resume work, the ASUU president urged him to go ahead with his plan if he feels it is the best option.
“Let Suswam go ahead and do whatever he likes. Lecturers have said they cannot continue working if the academic environment is not conducive. If Governor Suswam is not happy with ASUU’s stance, then so be it.”
